MPI Ottawa Prix Prestige Awards Gala 2017

After days of rainy weather the sun finally came out to shine on the MPI Ottawa Prix Prestige Awards Gala on May 10th at the Canadian Museum of History. The Museum was the perfect location for the Canada 150 themed gala. The event is designed to recognize excellence in members active in our chapter over the course of the past year and this event reminds us annually what a great chapter we have here in Ottawa.

Natural light flooded the room for the fabulous reception, sponsored by Destinations St. John’s. MPI members and guests mingled and networked over signature cocktails with a Newfoundland and Labrador twist.

Next up the main event, taking place in the Canadian Museum of History’s Theatre where emcee Brent Beatty of FMAV kept everyone entertained throughout the awards ceremony. Marye Ménard-Bos, CMP, CMM of Savoir Flair Communications and Events returned as the “Voice of Goddess”.

Our president Ryan Young of the Brookstreet Hotel introduced our 33 nominees across 8 award categories as they paraded across the stage before taking their seats.

Our first award was The Student Award, presented to Katherine Craig by Catherine Porter of Destinations Halifax. Congratulation Katherine!

Congratulation to all of the MPI Ottawa 2017 Prix Prestige Award Recipients!

Following the awards guests made their way to the Grand Hall for dinner. Coming down the escalator beautifully set wooden tables filled the room. The rustic yet elegant décor was put together by Party Time Rentals and Mastermind Event Rentals.

To start of dinner the wine sponsor Banff and Lake Louise Tourism’s Mark Zanetti got up to make a toast. Followed by another clip from “Stephanie’s Diary” at Edmonton Tourism, our platinum sponsor for the event.

Throughout a delicious dinner 8 Tracks played Canadian songs to fit the theme of the evening. In true MPI fashion, members created a makeshift dance floor near the stage. 8 Tracks had everyone dancing throughout the evening.

Robin Andrew and her team from Unposed took amazing photos of the event. Robin even found a spot in The Grand Hall that looked as if it had been designed for her photo booth set up. As usual she had everyone laughing and taking great photo’s all night.

As the evening came to a close Dora Dalietos Vis-à-Vis Events Inc. (MPI Ottawa Chapter’s Director of Awards & Recognition) got up to say a few words about the evening and thank her team and everyone who contributed to the success of the event. The hard work that was put into this event is very clear to everyone who attended.

This event would not be possible without the MPI Ottawa members who work so hard throughout the year and give us a reason to come together and celebrate excellence in our chapter. Every year we are reminded how much talent we have in our membership.
